It hard to see clearly from the photo. Does the white look stringy (ie fungus) powdery (rot, a bacterial infection) or like a cauliflower (lymphocystis, a viral infection)?

hi all

They look like real miniature white spot spots but only localized to the lump

Little bit of progress after dosing with melafix and primafix for second time last night this morning all the white spots have gone and he now just has lumps so might be a good sign

I have noticed one other of the tetra has a very small white bump at the base of his tail which is how this started off no other fish seem to have it or be effected in any way

Keep an eye on the lumps to see if they do turn into 'cauliflowers'. I know I'm paranoid on the subject, but one of my bettas had lymphocystis and I wouldn't want any of my other fish to get it. As it is viral, there is no cure.
