I sometimes look through ebay especially keeping an eye for larger aquariums. I came across a 5ft long by 18in deep and 2ft high aquarium for sale with a koi in it

I once came across someone with juvenile koi in with their tropical fish... wish I had this photo as it really "brings to life" the issue quite vividly.

I refuse to keep anything much bigger than 2 inches long in a tank of a similar size. My Goldeneye Cichlid male is the only fish I've ever hard of that size (about 3 inches) and even then I worry whether he has enough room when the female gets broody.

I'm sorry to say that things like this are all too common. Recently I saw a video complied with all these types of wrong or incorrect (however you wish to describe it) ways to keep fish etc and it too makes me sad that there are these things going on but in a ever changing world either people choose to do the wrong thing or are just poorly educated in what harm they could be doing. If working with people for the last 10+ years has taught me anything is that the ones who want to be helped ask and the ones who don't just carry on no matter what you say to them.
