I don't know when it happened exactly but I know when we rejigged the tank about 6 months ago we only had 6 Ottos. We redesigned the tank again this weekend (not recommended I know but the set up wasn't working) and now we seem to have 7!! It's about 2 cms long and is dwarfed by its tank mates; our 2 females are like whales by comparison. It's about the size our ottos were when we first bought them so I'm guessing it's 3-4 months old.

The new layout took a lot of thought but I think we've cracked it this time. All 3 species have their places; the bumblebee gobies have their perches and caves, the puffers have their dense planting and lots of nooks and crannies to investigate and the ottos seem much happier about being out and about during the day due mainly I think because the nippy gobies and puffers are more settled. They also seem to approve of the communal feeding stone we set up for them, it's too flush to the substrate to be a goby perching point and is big enough to fit all of them on there at one sitting. Piccies to follow, including one of our baby if we can manage it.
