Water Fern (Azolla filiculoides)
Parrot’s Feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum)
Floating Pennywort (Hydrocotyle ranunculoides)
Australian swamp stone crop (New Zealand Pygmyweed) (Crassula helmsii)
Water Primrose (Ludwigia grandiflora)
Floating primrose-willow (Ludwigia peploides)
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes)
Cabomba (Cabomba caroliniana)
Curly waterweed (Lagarosiphon major often inaccurately called Elodea crispa)
American skunk cabbage (Lysichiton americanus)
Nuttall’s waterweed (Elodea nuttallii)
Alligator weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides)
Chilean rhubarb (Gunnera tinctoria)
Broadleaf watermilfoil (Myriophyllum heterophyllum)
Giant Salvinia (Salvinia molesta)*

...and these animals...

Apple snails (Pomacea genus)
Pond sliders  (Trachemys scripta)
Striped eel catfish (Plotosus lineatus)*
Pumpkinseed (Lepomis gibbosus)*
Only one species of crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) can be sold in England and Wales. No live crayfish may be sold in Scotland.

...become illegal to sell in the UK, because they’re potentially invasive.

Edit... I’ve just been informed by OATA that this list has been in force for a few years now. On August 15th, 3 more species will be added to it...

Salvinia molesta (Giant Salvinia)
Gymnocoronis spilanthoides (Senegal Tea Plant)
and ALL Barley Straw products.

If anyone’s interested or has too much spare time, there’s a full list of fishes which are permitted to be kept in England and Wales, here...

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/845209/ILFA._Aquarium_Ornamentals._Alphabetic_checklist_for_BIPs..xlsx

It’s a big list.  :)
