Forgot to plug the heater in yesterday. Effects?

I was cleaning the tank yesterday when my son's friend, wife and baby son turned up for an unexpected visit. A slightly chaotic 10 mins later it was safe to put the baby down for a crawl. However in my rush I seem to have forgotten to plug the heater back in. I've just discovered it because I went to unplug the heater to fit some submersible led lights. The tank is a chilly 16C rather than the usual 24C.

The cories bizarrely seem to be enjoying the bracing water, they're displaying energetic mating behaviour. I hope the rest of the fish, snails and shrimp won't be too badly affected.

I have read that if you want to get your cories into the mood to add cooler than normal water when you do your water change, each to there own!

Hope the rest of the inhabitants are warming up now and not too badly affected by the temperature reduction.

Minimum temp for the glowlights is 24C the rest are fine with 22C. The heatings on now so hopefully that'll help. I don't think it would be a good idea to warm them up too quickly, don't want them getting fishy chilblains!

If I had £1 for every time I've done that I'd be rich  ;D

Bring them back to temp slowly and they'll be fine. It's when they get too cold for extended periods that problems occur.
