Has anyone  known of one species of fish adopt another?
Basically my very fat female tetra has overnight lost a lot of weight. I assuming she's finally spawned as we've seen a lot of flirting and courtship over the past couple of weeks.
The male Krib has became very territorial I was just curious as to if he has taken the eggs on as his own or just defending a very tasty bit of feeding ground.

I've not heard of inter species adoption, though some dwarf cichlid females have been known to steal fry off another female of the same species.

I would suspect the vast majority of tetra eggs would have been eaten within minutes.
