Hi everyone,

This is my first attempt at a larger project, the tank is a Juwel Vision 450, With 10 Neons, 10 Black Neons & $ silver Sharks

Unfortunately had thermostat fault while away and lost the lot :( so having to start from scratch again

Any comments or advice will be welcome, thanks in advance

Looks good! Those Jewel Visions are very smart tanks and high on the list for my next tank..... when we've moved house, that is. It might be a good idea to have two smaller heaters in a large tank, then if one fails then the other will keep things going until you notice. And if it sticks 'on', then there's less chance of cooking your fish.

A Selection of Fish in my Fish Community Creator Tanks
Panda Cory (7) - Honey Gourami (3) - Ember Tetra (9) - Lemon Tetra (4) - Cherry Barb (1) - Otocinclus (2) -
Note: The user may not necessarily own these fish, these are tanks that they may be building or researching for stocking purposes

Was running a 300W one through internal filter but considering putting FX5 into it and not decided about heater yet

Cheers Tim

Silver sharks do grow very big up to 25 cms and are very active. Though you have a nice big tank, personally I wouldn't mix them with small fish like Neons.

And the silver sharks need to be in a shoal of at least 6 - how many do you have? Your post says $, which I presume is a typo for 4  ;)

And just to warn you - the Juwel vision 240 is 151 cm along according to their website. Seriously Fish recommends a tank at least 240cm long for silver sharks  :(

So you have been left with no fish at all?
Sorry to hear that.
What are you planning to get instead? And will your tank need cycling again before you do?
I recon the tank looks nice, will look great once the plants have grown a bit.

Hi Puffin,
thanks for the post and no not anything left at moment, This all happened bout 6 weeks ago but left all filters running, but been advised by Sue to do a fishless cycle which is next on the agenda.

Thinking of having community tank with lots little fish such as neon'2 and cardinals but not really decided yet

Thanks Tim

All been part of the learning curve of keeping tropical fish
