Hi
Wondered if anyone has utilised the 1st chamber on a flex 57 to upgrade the media.

I have seen a made to measure perpex basket made for the flex 57 but its £57 for a bit of plastic.

With the tank having two entry ports one top one bottom would tank pull water through them both.
If so would it be best to put course foam top and bottom with new media in middle.

Any ideas would be apreciated.

Looking at the manual for this tank, I would just put sponge in that section. Sponge is just about the best filter medium - it traps debris and is home to filter bacteria. And it lasts for years.

Just to check - you are aware that you don't need to replace media as the manual says? And that you don't need carbon, you can replace that with sponge as well.

I have got some course foam to fill the grills top and bottom to prevent small fish and shrimp getting through.
Would you recommend course to put in the 1st compartment

Sponge is just about the best filter media. I'd use that. Any brand as long as it can be cut down to fit.
