Air pump help

Hi there I want to buy an air pump for a small 24L spare tank and I want to run a single sponge filter with it.  Does anyone have any recommendations for one that would be powerful enough but not too powerful being a small tank.   Doesn’t have to be near silent but a fairly quiet one would be even better.  Thanks

I have found the Interpet Nano Aquamini Aquarium Air Pump to be quite literally silent in operation. The air bubbles themselves of course make a noise. It is designed for tanks of this size and I am currently using it to run an air powered sponge filter on my Betta tank. I have also used it to prevent films from forming on the water surface in larger tanks and tobprovide filtration for hospital tanks.

I have a sponge filter in my betta's tank and it is powered by the smallest Eheim air pump https://www.eheim.com/en_GB/products/technology/air-pumps/air . It has an adjustable flow rate and I also have a 2 way splitter with taps (like this ) which I use to bleed air into the room if I feel the flow is too strong.
The Eheim is very quiet except when something gets pushed against it, which is easy in this case as the tank is on a kitchen worktop where we also keep a lot of junk.

Hi Matt,

I believe the above product uses a very clever way of generating a stream of air. Instead of the conventional diaphragm pump, some of the silent, ultra-compact air pumps use a vibrating piezoelectric element. That's why they are very quiet. Piezoelectric elements are used in microphones and buzzers. I have no personal experience of using these new air pumps so will be interested to hear how it continues to perform.

I also have a few of these, and I can second what Matt has said.
