@Matt found this diagnosis tool earlier today and thought it might be useful for others so sharing here (link below) and quick reference disease mat. It’s by NT Labs Who make a lot of medicines but we also have a thread on here with our experiences of the various manufacturers  medications again the link is below.

In addition to NT Labs' diagnostic tool, there are similar ones for other brands:
https://www.interpet.co.uk/Support/The-Fish-Doctor/Diagnose-what-s-wrong
https://www.kingbritish.co.uk/help-advice/fish-health-common-problems-treatments
https://www.eshalabs.eu/europe/products.html
https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/95f1ff4d/files/uploaded/Tropical-disease-chart-Jul-2015.pdf [available via https://www.waterlife.co.uk/]

My impression is that diagnosis is becoming increasingly difficult these days, and symptoms often don't clearly point to one particular condition. That's a benefit of the forum - getting advice on potential ways forward to assist with deciding the best and potential alternative courses of action rather than necessarily launching headlong into one medication after another which can potentially take its toll on the fish. Following the discussion and information sharing, then users can decide whether or not to medicate and consider what has worked for others (eg via https://forums.thinkfish.co.uk/fish-medicines/medicines-for-treating-different-conditions/).

Edited to add: Although ex-UK, I found this which is of potential interest: https://www.nationalfishpharm.com/
