I have my account set up for the site to notify me whenever a new post is made. This has worked fine since the beginning of the new forum until a couple fo days ago. Now I'm getting nothing. I've checked my spam filter and nothing there either. All the topics I've posted in are listed under Notifications in my Account Settings, as are all the diferent sections.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi Sue,

Yes, I have mine set up to notify me of any new posts too, and like you have found it's not happening anymore.  I have to physically go to the forum, and check through the listings.  I had thought it was just my computer being cranky....but  maybe not.

'Show unread posts since last visit' still works, thank goodness. What I do is click that as soon as I get here and work my way down the list, using right click on the 'back' button after each viewing/replying to each new post till I've reached the bottom of the list. Then click on 'show unread...' again before leaving the site in case someone has posted while I've been catching up.
I did find the email notifications useful when 'talking' to someone as I could leave the site to do something else, and I would know when that person had replied. Now I've got to keep coming back to check.

Hmm that is odd, I always use show unread posts to make my way through what's been going on! It's a lot easier when I'm on my phone too like this weekend. Im currently stressing about my tank since it's the first time it's ever been completely left alone. It's only been 2 days but paranoia is getting the better of me!

2 weeks, I don't think I'd cope! I got back today after leaving Saturday and the first thing I did was check the tank and in my panic declared onr of my fish dead and two gonners, since he was 'dead' in a cave under the driftwood and the other two were sat on the gravel looking pale. I turned the tanks on to further assess the situation and what do you know they came back from the dead.. or they were just sleeping :P I've never seen them like that before so it really did scare me at first! Unfortunately I have returned to a tank with an increasing snail population.. perhaps more drastic action is needed

Some species of fish are worse than others for changing in the dark. Neons (and green neons & cardinals) go brown in the dark. Dwarf pencilfish lose their stripes. Most of them go into a stupor, some come out of it faster than others.
And dark doesn't necessarily mean total blackout, just a bit dim.

Someone suggested putting a power/light timer on the light plug so the fish have their 'daylight' while we're away.
