So, from today onwards - all newly registered users will get a public welcome thread negating the need to introduce themselves in the mega introduce yourself thread

I see that thread I started way back when the forum re-appeared now has 27 pages. I see what you mean about it being a mega-thread.
Is it worth locking that thread now so that no-one else can post in it?
And encourage new members to introduce themselves in the new threads?

Hi Sue, no let's leave it for now as some missed the cut and signed up recently.
The threads are auto created now on user account activation, and people are pinged to let them know they've been mentioned too.
I think the thread should be locked, but let's give it a week or two for now. :cheers:
