Feeding Discus And Tropical Fish

Discus are vegetarian fish so ignore anything on-line about feeding them beef heart etc. They should be fed a mixture of food such as spirulina, vegetables (eg peas, removed from their skins, blanched and chopped), glassworms, bloodworms, krill.

General tropical fish should be fed on a good quality flake or pellet food, with live or frozen food such as bloodworms, daphnia and brine shrimps as treats.

Do you have tropical fish in the same tank as discus? Since discus need higher temperatures than most tropical fish, discus tank mates should be chosen with care.
