Hi All,
Just a quick hello from a newbie
Just bought my first tank 3 weeks ago, a 48 ltr fishbox.
It is all planted with substrate rock & plants.
Currently have 5 danios (3 zebra 2 leopard)
Did have an albino danio which died at weekend.
All water tests are fine with nothing out of ordinary so as the man in the pet shop said it may have been ill prior to purchasing.

Hi Jay, welcome to ThinkFish.
A 3 week old tank with fish isn't usually enough time to for a cycle, so we need to get you up to speed on 'Fish In Cycling' ASAP, please read the following article: Fish or fishless cycling? (http://www.thinkfish.co.uk/article/fish-or-fishless-cycling-and-aquarium-maturation.html). Invariably a local fish stockist will not discuss the time it takes to make an aquarium suitable for fish, as it would loose them a sale. Usually this means that fish die as a result of bad information.
What water testing have you done so far? Read this one for info on what is needed 'Aquarium Water Quality & Testing (http://www.thinkfish.co.uk/article/water-quality-and-testing-for-your-fishtank.html)'. If you can let us have more details about your setup we will be have a better chance of saving you from having loose more stock, and guide you through the process of 'Fish In Cycling'.

Dave (Tigzfish) is perfectly correct (as always). Danios are tough little fish so it sounds like there's something that's not to their liking. Your tank will need cycling. It's often recommended to keep a general community tank at 25oC and Danios prefer it cooler than that, 24oC as a maximum, so it could be worth checking your heater-stat temp and getting a second 'opinion' on the tank temperature - the el cheapo thermometers are not too accurate, especially the stick-on colour strip ones.
