Good to hear from you again, Jalot. Well done on getting a bigger tank. I have no experience with external filters but hopefully those who do will be able to advise you.

The Rolls Royce of externals are Eheims (except the ecco model) and Fluvals, though they are the most expensive brands. All Pond Solutions are also rated provided you remember that being cheaper they are more brittle, and their quoted flow rates are without media and adding media cuts the flow rate quite a bit so go for one bigger than you'd think. Other people also rate JBL externals.

It might be a good idea to go with what your LFS has, then there should be less hassle if there's a problem and spares will be easily available.

Atm I have an eheim professional 4 600 and a aps 1000ef the eheim is working a treat but the aps isn't even breaking the surface of the water ... I'm going out on Saturday to buy another filter but I wasn't sure whether to go for another eheim 600 or bigger as the middle of my tank have no movement what so ever?
