Yes it is Sue,i originally was looking at smaller tanks, but after a living room
Reshuffle i managed to create a larger space.
I will slowly stock it is the cycle progresses over the next few months,my theory
Is,as i have the space then i will have a tank i can grow into, rather than a tank. I will grow out
Of,that is my theory, time will tell

Are you planning on doing a fish-in cycle or fishless? I know you said you want to add fish slowly, but you can still do a fishless cycle just using a bit less ammonia if you want to start with only a few fish. Though with a tank that size, if you stock slowly, waiting till both ammonia and nitrite stay at zero before getting the next fish, you will have a lot of water to dilute ammonia and nitrite.

I am doing a fish in cycle,i havent decided the exact number but probably 10 to 15 fish
Initially,i am still researching my fish choices, ultimately dwarf rainbows are a definite, platy,
Cardinal/ neon tetra,so my intention is to have good numbers of each species.lots of smaller
Peacefull Fish rather than a few large fish.

Hello Andy, and welcome to the forum.

You'll certainly have lots of smaller fish if you get platys..... they taught rabbits how to breed. :))

You've probably thought of this.... but just in case. A 5ft tank plus water, gravel etc will weigh about half a tonne. Is your floor up to this?

Good point Colin i do hope so,but at least i live in a bungalow and not a top floor
Flat :rotfl:.
Well the tank should be here this evening,so tomorrow i start the clean up and
Hopefully have it in place in my living room,i intend on doing a photo diary from
Arrival of the tank to the first fish etc etc.
