Firstly thank you for letting me join the site.
Just a bit about myself,i kept tropicals for about 15 years in the 70's and 80's then marine for about 5 years. Thought that now retired i would restart keeping tropicals after a 10 year break. After 3 months of remembering all the things not to do (and generally failing) my tank now seems reasonably stable. Totally overstocked, but wife loves it. The tank is a Fluval 260ltr bow fronted tank running a Fluval 406 filter. Standard stage 1 and 2 filter media with 4 chambers of Bio max and 2 chambers with 400ml of Purigen, topped off with 2 polishing pads. Now the embarrassing stock.. 3 Pearl Gourami , 3 Opaline Gourami, 3 Bristlenose, 8 Harlequin, 3 Swordtails, 3 Mollies,8 Schwartz corys and 6 Schults corys. ( apologies but wife works next door to fish shop and gets discount) . Looking forward to reading posts and learning from the experts

A warm welcome to the forum  and thanks for letting us see a pic of your beautiful and luscious tank before we even had to ask   Glad that you and Mrs GH share the hobby/enjoyment of fishkeeping - a rare scenario on here where usually one loves it and the other is ambivalent.  ::)

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

That is a stunning tank.  8)

I can't imagine how much of a temptation it would be to work next to a fish shop and get a discount.......  :o  ;D

I can see myself 'retiring' and working IN a fish shop... I can also see me keeping the shop afloat singlehandedly!

Welcome @GrahamH   :fishy1:
That's some healthy looking plants you have there!

With all the fish in tank the plants are getting nutritional overload.nitrate levels high and even ammonia level not ideal, but been that way for over month now.water changes seem to have no effect no. fish losses in last 6 weeks

you'd be surprised what fish can adapt to...  my shrimps are supposed to die within 2 days of being put in freshwater (they were live food for my ten year old weather loach) somehow they have adapted to fresh water and have been alive for nearly 18 months in my tank. I bought 15 originally , counted eight in there tonight
