I have been trying the Insert Quote but it doesn't seem to do anything

At the top of every post is a quote button. Click on that and the post should appear in the box where you type as
open square bracket quote author=name code close square bracket then the text of the message you want to quote the open square bracket /quote close square bracket

I've had to include a few spaces in that which shouldn't be there or it would be unreadable.

If you click 'quote' at the top of any post that doesn't have quotes you should see the code I've tried to describe. Using a post that has quotes will result in quotes within quotes which are quite hard to make sense of.

Then click 'preview' and see what happens.






Wasps round here just build nests hanging from the overlap in whatever that sheeting material under the roof tiles is called. And tree bees build nests in the top of the wall cavity. But when the chap comes to remove the wasps he sprays insecticide on the nest site and we get dead wasps in the header tank after that.

Thanks @Sue, The Quote button function you describe is what I expected would happen, but I just get a blank text box but none of the text icons do anything for me either, so maybe its a browser or OS issue.
I just tried an ipad and its works but I make too many typos using a tablet - Ill try Chrome next post.

Yep its a browser thing, definitely a browser thing. This was the Chrome attempt and I have full smiley functionality !
