Hi, thanks for letting me join. About to set up first aquarium so am sure there will be many questions soon. Got the tank Jewel Rio 180 and currently researching. Would like to have Amazonian set up so looking at various tetras, corys etc eventually. Just checking out substrates at the moment got stuck on how much to buy and whether to go for fine gravel or sand. Intend to use live plants.

Welcome to the forum. If you’re having Corys they really need fine sand.  :)

Hi @chrisnolan19  and welcome to the forum
I have fine sand in my tanks that have corys. I've also used root tabs to help the live plants in those tanks and it seems to work.
