Hi,
I started the hobby just before the first lockdown, convinced my son he wanted an aquarium, so the wifey would buy into it :) I have a planted tank, currently stocked to 40% according to the community creator.
I've lost a few plants, but luckly no fish to date 8)

Hi welcome to the forum
That's a nice big tank for your first :) What fish do you have?
I couldn't keep plants alive for years then I found plants I could manage. A lot is trial an error when it comes to plants.

2 Angels
20 RN Tetras
3 Blue Panchax
L333 & L260 ( never see them! )
6 ottos
Beta 😎 (Only got this because it had been at the lfs for months in a community tank and felt sorry for him, he’s a scruffy bugger 😂)
6 Checked Barbs.
4 Corys
40 amano shrimp
6 nitrite snails

Welcome to the forum. Your route to acquiring a tank ( and the description of the nerite snails ;) ) made me smile.
The tank looks lovely. May we see a close-up of the fish so that we (especially those of us with small tanks and not many inhabitants) can enjoy them?

Welcome! Yes drop us a bigger piccie - I for one want to admire your ‘scape

Hi @stevetorley and welcome to the forum.
Yor tank looks great and I'd love to see more pics of your fish, especially the panchax. :)

Thanks for all the positive responses. I’ll try and get some closer pics of the snails and fish tomorrow when the lights are back on. I’ve had the blue panchax a couple of weeks, they’re not very big, but they’re a cool little fish that patrol the top of the tank.

Welcome to the forum Steve. I bet your son didn’t take much convincing. Is he hooked now?
If you were to ask us for advice, I’d say get a few more Corys (same species), and Otos, and add something at the top, ie floating plants, branches, whatever, for the Panchax and the Betta.
Cracking tank though. It looks like you know what you’re doing. :)
