Post by: Aquarius Barbara on September 15, 2017, 07:26:11 PM
We have one other pet a Jack Russell called Max He is 7 years old but we have only had him for 3 years he is a rescue dog. Max has been to the groomers today so he is looking very dapper with his bandana on he loves wearing it and ask for it when we get up in the morning he loves to stick to routine breakfast with Dad his Chewstick walkies, then home to make breakfast and bring me a cuppa, he never gets left at home on his own he goes everywhere with us, unless he goes to his second Mam and Dad for a visit my friend Ann and her hubby Will. where he gets very spoilt.

I have a rescue dog as well, 10 year old terrier had just over a year, but think he was not treated well, not miss treated but very nervous, barks at everything, getting him better trained, but being 10 would think he is set in his way, I am disabled so got a mobility scooter so can take him for a decent walk, got a off road one so can take him to the park which has a wood in the middle and he loves it in there.

Jack Russells can be like that Max can bark till the cows come home, but drop an empty tissue box or shake a carrier bag and he runs a mile, hates fireworks and hoovers, but if anyone no matter who comes into our cul-de-sac he goes mental until we go see who it is. Hates people coming in and even worse when they want to leave.

The worse thing about rescue dogs is you just don't know what has happened to them so it's just a case of taking it slowly and introducing new things carefully. We have had 5 rescue dogs over the years each one with some kind of behavior issue which we have managed to overcome. The good thing is they all ended up being lovely dogs.
My husband is so good with them he really gives them loads of attention and just loves having a dog in the house.
