That's one advantage to a fishless cycle - you have time to find things like this out before you can buy fish.

One fish you could think about, though it would have to be the only species in the tank rather than a community - shell  dwellers such as this or this. I don't know how easy they are to keep as I would have to alter my tap water quite a lot to keep them, but maybe something to think about if you ever decide to get another tank.

:rotfl: forgive me Sue, but i'm not that subtle, my Platy, Harlequin Rasbora and Penguin Tetras was as subdued as i get, so it may be replacing Rasboras with certain Tetras (according to Hard Water Community) or i may just go full circle and end up with fake coral reef and lots of Platy and Penguins lol. Yes certainly glad of the time to find all this out before hand, thank you for the guidance even if it hasn't all been what i wanted to hear lol. Just hope my tank cycle goes ok, day 8 and so far so good  :)

One thing you do have going for you - with your general hardness being as high as it is, your carbonate hardness should also be high. The filter bacteria need carbonate in the water to multiply, so they should be quite happy in your water. And with a lot of carbonate hardness, you won't have a pH crash like those of us with soft water are prone to.
A silver lining in every cloud  ;D
