Title: Unique rainbow fish

Hi I bought. 4 rainbow fish from my lfs. I was just looking at them and noticed one of them has no dorsal fin.
Is this rare or quite common?

It could be a birth deformity or it could have been attacked in the wholesaler/shop's tank. Damage will regrow to some extent, though a birth defect won't. If it's swimming OK, it doesn't matter if it never grows.

As for it being common or rare, I'm afraid I'm not well enough up in rainbow fish to say either way. If it is a birth defect, it could be something that species is prone to or it could be a one-off.
