Stocking my tank

Hi, I am new to fish keeping and have a 165 litre tank with an external filter. At the moment I have:
zebra danios x 5
white cloud minnows x 5
glow light danios x 4
dwarf gourami - 1 male and two female
one angelfish
I have added three honey gourami (one male, two female) but according to the stock checker the honey gourami are too small to be kept with the angelfish. Should I be looking to rehome them (they do seem ok at the moment) why aren't the dwarf gourami too small?

Siamese Fighting Fish (male) (1) - Angelfish (6) - Dwarf Gourami (1) - Glowlight Danio (1) - Honey Gourami (1) - Rummy Nose Tetra (3) - Pearl Gourami (1) - Yoyo Loach (4) - Panda Cory (3) -
Note: The user may not necessarily own these fish, these are tanks that they may be building or researching for stocking purposes

Hi Lizfish and welcome to the forum.

I don't have any experience with gourami and angel fish, but one of the more experienced keepers will be along soon to help you.

Hi LizFish

Honey gouramis are one of the most peaceful, timid gouramis and they might not get on with large, potentially aggressive cichlids like angels.
You could try keeping them both a bit longer and see what happens but be ready to rehome either the gouramis or the angelfish if things start to go wrong, depending on which you decide you prefer.

To be honest, I'd rehome the angelfish. They like warmer water than zebra danios, glowlight danios and white clouds. And honey gouramis can tolerate temps down to 22 deg C.

Fishkeepers tend to fall into 2 camps - the minimum numbers of lots of species, or lots of just a few species. I'm in the second group so I'd get more of the two danios and white clouds  :)

Hi all,

I will give them all a little more time and see what happens. I have lots of plants so the gourami have a lot of hiding places if needs be.
The angelfish is the one fish that my husband wanted and he/she is a real beauty.
I am already addicted and have been looking at larger tanks so I could split them up if needs be.

Thank you.

Aha! Multiple tank syndrome* has set in already  ;D

* an incurable disease of fishkeepers, the main symptom being the desire for more and more tanks. Littlefish, who posted above, is a severely afflicted member  ;D

More tanks and/or larger tanks are often the answer.  ;)
Welcome to the world of MTS, and expect you home to become over run with tanks as you find more and more fish that you like. I admit to suffering from this quite badly.

We also love lots of pictures of tanks on this forum, and posting piccies of your tank as soon as possible is the rule (kind of).  ;D

Hello LizFish, and welcome to the forum.

The best plan has already been discussed... a bigger tank for the Angelfish, and then you can get more Angelfish and have a lovely Amazonian biotope with Angelfish, cory cats and a shoal of the larger tetra. Or similar - Clickety-click.
