Title: Sand Sifters
Post by: ACrouch on September 04, 2014, 09:36:32 AM
Could someone please let me know if there is a fish I can get that will sift sand in my discus tank.
I have four clown loaches and two coral catfish but they dont really sift sand.
Many thanks in advance

Cories? Sterbai are the only cory that can take the temps discus need.
Rams? My bolivian rams sifted the sand, presumably 'ordinary' rams are the same, and they can cope with discus temps too.

Malaysian Trumpet Snails do a good job of churning up the sand without disturbing plants.... if snails are your thing.

Bolivian Rams are known sand sifters. However, I hope you are not expecting fish to clean the sand for you .............
