Title: moving home

Hi i am new to this so need a little advice,am moving home in 3wks and wanted to know the best way to move my tropical fish without causing them too muc stress all advice would be great thanks :D

Just a couple of comments on the article Steve linked to:
With even a small tank, I would remove all the water. Tanks are designed to be strong when not moving, but even an inch of water sloshing around can damage them.
It is harder to kill the filter bacteria that the article would have you believe, but you must still take care of it. Treat the filter like a fish, put it in a bag in water with air above. If the filter itself won't fit in a bag, remove the media and put that in the bag. Don't clean it.
If you are moving to where the water is different, take care doing water changes after the move. Do a few smaller water changes than usual to slowly change your old water to the new.
