Lower Temp, less Bacteria?

Iv'e gradually lowered my six week old tank from it's initial 25c to now 23 c and it's just occured to me, is filter bacteria more unstable or slower growing in a cooler tank ?

The filter bacteria multiply more quickly in the very high 20s, but they live quite happily and eat ammonia and nitrite in cold water tanks. And ponds. We just turn the heat up during fishless cycling to make them multiply faster so we don't have to wait as long to get fish.

filter bacteria can thrive in tropical or cold conditions

There's nothing living tougher than bacteria, sometimes a good thing, sometimes bad .............
