Home Made Filters

hi im thinking of building a home made filter i have been watching a bloke called joey on you tube who says its easy i have a plastic storage box with the pipe connectors to silcone in to place one in the top for the inlet and one at the bottom im going to section it off with filter floss or foam then in the second section ki bio mediabut i dont know if a 80 ltr box will be ok plus i have a 3000w pump to turn the water over six times any ideas please

hi yeah in the water or out i just need to know if its a good idea because joey on youtube makes it sound easy but we all know its not that easy when we do it but the whole set up is going to be home made from cabinet filters and light set up its a six foot tank but bare this will be a mission but im going to take my time with it so it turns out unique thanks for the comments it helps
