I am thinking of adding a couple of cherry red shrimp to the tank when (IF) I eventually get it cycled.
I have see from browsing that I need plants so have already put in Bacopa (which ended up having the tiniest of snails on it which could only be seen through a magnifying glass) and Alternanthera.
I also have a moss ball which I understand they love.
I think I also need a safe shelter and was wondering if I could put in a couple of well washed small terracotta flowerpost as I have some really cute dinky ones that I have never used and they would look quite nice I think.
As usual, any advice much appreciated.

Terracotta flowerpots are fine. I have half a pot as a cave in my betta's tank and I use them as spawning caves in my big tank. If you put them upside down the shrimps would be able to get in through the hole in the bottom (now on top!) but the fish you are interested in don't usually go into caves.
I would also get half a dozen shrimps. They do better in groups and don't add much at all to the bioload of a tank.
