My tank is still cycling so I am not in a position to add Algae eating shrimp/fish but I do appreciate your advise as this may be a solution going forward.
I have a 54l, 60x30x30 tank setup and I attached a picture to this thread. May I know what kind of Algae is this and how I control it?
Many thanks in advance.

I can't see your picture but please try this link to help identify your algae and the cause/remedy:

I think it's Brown Algae, thank you for the link which is helpful.

Brown algae (diatoms) that wipes off is common in cycling tanks. It is caused by ammonia in the water and light.
If there are no live plants, leave the tank lights off until the tank is cycled.
The trouble with using creatures to remove algae is that none of them eat all types of algae and there are some types of algae that nothing eats.

I find that supermarket own brand/cheap non-scratch sponge/scourers do the trick. As long as they don't have any detergents or anything else in them, they'll do the trick.
