First steps

This morning my son and I went to West Dorset Aquatics in Weymouth, where he happily helped me spend lots of money, and that's just for starters!!  :yikes: I have bought an AquaOne Aqua vogue 170, which has an external filter, and its being delivered next week.  All the wood is in soak, ready to rinse clean.  I have to wait until someone with muscle comes to lift the gravel out of the boot so I can get started on that.
I think my son is as excited as I am because he's just phoned and offered to set it up for me next weekend, with the promise of a sunday roast as a reward.  Sorry if post is a bit boring, but I'm so excited and looking forward to getting up and running, even if it without fish  :fishy1: for a few weeks

Buying a tank is almost as exiting has buying fish  ;) After all, it is the start of things to come, and a time when you can happily mess around with decor without harming any fish till you get it just right.

Hey Miss Doodle...  that's the same tank I have...  :)

Here's a link you will find handy down the line - well worth bookmarking it:

I would recommend buying in a couple of the pre-filter wool pads - so much easier replacing them once a month than trying to clean & re-use them...
