Strange question for you guys!

A couple of weeks ago I added 4 corydoras to my planted 120l tank.  I was told by the seller that they would be likely to hide away at first until they felt confident, but they have been happy and active since they went in  :)

Then yesterday morning I saw one was lying in a plant upside down not moving but I could see slight gill movement.  I thought he was dying and did a water test immediately but levels were all good.  So I came back and he was swimming about again and I didn't know which one had been doing this as they all looked active.

When I got home from work today one was in the place place/position but a short time later swimming around again!

Is this normal?!   ???

To be honest, it is not something I have seen myself, but then I've only got pygmy cories and they're not quite the same as their larger cousins.
I would keep an eye on this cory. In my tanks it is known for sick fish to wedge themselves in plants before they die - probably easier than having to swim or risk getting dragged around by the current. But hopefully, you just have an eccentric cory  :D

Hi Amlaikin,

My cories love to lounge around in the vegetation, but I can't say I have ever noticed any of them upside down ???
I have pepper cories and panda cories....what do you have? (Apologies if you have already said....I'm catching up on threads :-[ )

Peppered and albino, but it's an albino that was doing it.  Only seen it do it one more time since and they're all doing fine.

The albinos are a bit crackers though - nice and laid back sometimes and jetting around like crazy other times!
