When a dechlorinator says use 1 outer capful for 50litres and 1 inner cap ful for every 10 litres does this mean the outer cap ful fills the whole cap or JUST the outer ring?

To be honest, I'm not sure. Does it give a number of mls for a capful of either type? The easiest way is to get a babies doing syringe and measure it that way. A syringe is also useful if you don't want to add water in multiples of 10 litres. For instance, my bucket holds 7.5 litres so I'd have to dose 3/4 of an inner capful per bucket which would be hard to measure.

I've found that the King British range of aquarium additives/fluids tend to come with a small plastic 'syringe' as standard, including their declorinator & medications - don't know what other's opinions are on their products but the ones I've used have all done 'what it says on the tin', so to speak.

They may have changed things since I last bought them, but the trouble I had with those pipettes is that there was no line marked so I had no idea where to fill them to  ???

The ones I've got over the last 6 months or so have markings for 0.5ml and 1ml so it looks like they've since resolved the design flaw!  :D

I also find that a tiny measuring 'jug' comes in handy - I have a 30ml one which includes markings for 10ml & 20ml.

However, if the measurements on the bottle are only given in 'caps' with no reference to measurements in ml, having a small pipette still may not help!  :-\

Cazzy - what is the brand of dechlorinator you have? If someone else uses the same one, they may have a better idea about capful sizes.
