Title: Bottom Feeders ( Clean Up Crew )
Post by: Rustle on July 25, 2017, 08:09:11 AM
Hi everyone i need some advice on some bottom feeder's. I have planted tank but want to keep the algae away etc but i can't make my mind up whats best a bristlenose pleco or otto's but i also want to keep peppered cory cats. I want to know is it possible to keep all 3 or has it got to be the pleco or ottos.

I would not be adding these until 6 months time i am just planning ahead.

My stocking list is going to be

12 Harlequin Rasboras
6 Cherry Barbs
6 Peppered Corys

Maybe a centre piece fish or another small school.  Advice welcome

Ottos 'Pleco   one or the other or both if possible.

I have panda cories in the same tank as otos, and gold stripe cories in the same tank as my BNs. I'm not sure if there would be any trouble between the otos and BNs if you kept them in the same tank, but you would probably need quite a lot of algae for them all.
I'm a relative newbie too, but I'm sure one of the more experienced keepers will be along with more accurate advice.

Provided the tank is big enough, you could have both cories and otos or cories and a bn. But I would have either otos or a bn to make sure there is enough food. Otos are notoriously difficult to feed if they run out of algae.
