Just noticed a furry growth on the bogwood in my new tank. Is this normal or do I have a problem? I don't think it was there yesterday.  No fish in it yet

You said the tank is new? How long has the bogwood been in it? How did you prepare the wood before putting it in the tank? (Ie soaked it x many days with hot / cold / boiling water)

Also what colour is the fuzz? It could be anything from mould to algae.

It is also possible that it's part of the settling process.

It happens a lot with new wood. It's mold/fungus growing from spores within the wood, now that they're wet. It's not aquatic though so it won't stay long. If it's still there when you add fish they'll probably eat it...
