Baby V. Platies

Hi, I'm after some advice.
Early January I was moving some v. platies to a larger tank, with some zebra fish. I found 2 baby platies in the smaller tank, so put mummy fish back and kept the tank running. No new babies since, so I was wondering if it would be safe to move mother and babies to the community tank? The youngsters are around 2cm and are eating roughly crushed flake with the occasional small bloodworm. All other community tank inhabitants are fully grown. Is there any risk to the youngsters or can I move them?
Daddy fish is still being kept in a separate tank as there are only so many of these fish I have room for.
 

2cm sounds large enough not to be eaten except by quite large fish. Provided there are hiding places they should be fine.


How long have the male and female been separated? Don't forget platy females can store sperm, though if there have been no more babies since early January she might have used it all by now.
