Title: Am I feeding enough?
Post by: suep on April 14, 2013, 10:43:36 PM
I have 19 small fish (mainly danios and 6 harlequin rasboras) in a 110 ltre tank. I have been feeding 2-3 times a day very small amounts (food all gone in about 10 seconds). The zebra danios spend all their time it seems scouting the bottom of the tank. I didn't think they did this so am I feeding enough?

If you are feeding 2 or 3 times a day, that amounts to the same as one feed all gone in 30 secs. You could maybe increase a bit (maybe half as much again).

I wouldn't worry too much about the danios feeding on the bottom. My green neon tetras do and they're supposed to never go near the bottom. And one of my dwarf chain loaches has been known to feed at the surface - they are supposed to be bottom feeders.

Thanks Sue, I guess fish like humans are not always predictable ::) I think I need to not worry as much, but I just wanted to check  ;)
