Title: Betta food - sample pack free to good home
Post by: fcmf on March 08, 2016, 01:58:39 PM
Hi folks,

A small sample-size packet of Betta Booster food from Dennerle was included alongside a pack of catappa leaves which I'd sent off for and which arrived in today's mail. It's of no use to me currently, and I'm no good whatsoever at discarding things, so, if it would be of any use to you, 'PM' me your name/address and I'll happily pop it in the post to you.

will other fish eat this?

Good question. I assumed not - they might eat it but it mightn't be good for them. As far as I know, fish food is made specific to different types of tropical fish, depending on whether they are herbivore, omnivore, etc, in line with their nutritional requirements - that's why you often see "catfish pellets" or other species-specific food advertised.

Is the food pellets or flake? Some bettas will only eat one or the other.

Definitely feels like pellets through the silver-foiled pack (ie I can't see them but they feel like little micro pellets).

That's the most common type of betta food, though Tetra make (used to make?) a flake food for bettas.

Will PM you.

Excellent.

Now en route to good home.

fcmf's pellets arrived today and the betta had them for lunch. Although they look different from the Hikari betta pellets he's used to, and they sank rather than float, he soon gobbled them up  :)

I will now add Dennerle Betta Booster to my list of food suitable for bettas.
