Woohoo, my tank is finally cycled and ready for shrimp, I have a nice piece of bog wood for them (soaking in a bucket) and a nice little shrimp house for them. I have purchased some beta-g and am thinking of getting a feeding tube and dish.
What would ppl suggest I get or do before I go purchase any shrimp ? I haven't done my final water change as yet so I'm in no rush as yet

Will there be just the shrimp in the tank? If that's all there will be, you don't need to buy any equipment to feed them.
I feed my shrimps on crushed Hikari Shrimp Cuisine, though they also eat fish food that add for the fish. The crushed shrimp and fish pellets are quite small and even juvenile shrimp can get hold of them to eat them. I even have shrimps walking upside down on the surface to grab any flakes the fish don't get.
Do you have any plants, real or fake? Both with grow micro-organisms on them which the shrimps will also eat. Plants also make good hiding places for shrimps to feel safe in when they moult.

I would like some CPD's in there but in all honesty I think the tanks maybe a little small for both shrimp and fish. I do have some baby Java fern in my gf's tank which I was going to use but as the main plant these came off appears to be dying I think I'll have to get myself a couple of new plants or some plastic ones
