Little Miracle is still in her 2 1/5 litre glass jug with an airline stuck inside a piece of cycled foam from one of the other tanks. Yesterday's water test returned zero ammonia so it must be acting as a small filter

She is still attached to the glass although a very little further round from where she was.
She definitely moved when I put the airline in because she was at the top of the glass and now is at the bottom.

There is slight feeler movement, although this could now be down to the airline that is in there.

There is no "mouth" movement at all like there is with the healthy nerite in the 60cm tank.  He chomps as he makes his way round the tank

I have the grandchildren coming over this afternoon. I'm tempted to ask my girlchild if she will sniff when I lift the saucer that is acting as a lid.
She used to be up for anything but is now 14, so I think she's more likely to say
"No way nan, that's so GROSS" ! She's developed that pitying way of looking at me that says "you're really mad" !

You need to sniff the actual snail rather than the water. And just a tiny sniff as the smell of a dead snail lingers in the nose for hours

Good luck  :)

Ah. Um. Well, for now I am going to assume that as she is stuck ( or appears to be) to  the glass (and Richard's snail was like it for 6 weeks) I'll save that particular pleasure until I'm feeling braver !!

Well 5 days further on and Miracle is still with me.

She spent most of that time virtually in one place in the 2 1/5 litre jug but yesterday it was more noticeable that she had moved.

I have  transferred her carefully to the obsolete quarantine tank now that my silver cory has died.

I placed her on a stone and for a little while she stayed there.  The water has all been changed and the tank is cooler than it was before.

Snail has done a complete circuit of the tank, even across the sand.

I'm away next week and don't feel confident placing her in either of the bigger tanks in case she pops her clogs and messes them up.

Strange to to think she survived all that time out of water and on a carpet and my little silver cory just died for no apparent reason.
