Have I killed my elephant snails?

Iíve had two adult elephant / rabbit snails living in my tank for about two years. Recently added more fish, realised I was in mini cycle and bought Prime to help between water changes.  Then decided to add more plants, and the man in the shop recommended Flourish. He was aware I kept snails.
In the last two weeks both elephant snails have died. The nerite is fine, and so are multiple mts. Iím hoping the baby elephants are fine and hiding somewhere, but worried they are not.
I now read flourish contains copper... did I kill my lovely snails??!!
Thanks for any help / advice.
Ps I also have two Armani shrimp and the fish are ember tetra. Itís an aquanano 40. Approx 55l aquarium.

When you say Flourish, which one? There are several products with that name.

I use Flourish comprehensive supplement for the planted aquarium. I don't use it at the full dose because all my plants are slow growing, low light plants. I have nerite snails in my tanks and they've not been harmed.

How much did you use, the full dose as on the bottle, or more, or less than that?

The fact that your other snails and shrimps are OK suggests that using Flourish was just a coincidence - or that rabbit snails are more sensitive.

Thanks Sue, Yes thatís the one, itís a seachem product but says exactly that on the bottle. I dosed as per instructions,  not particularly carefully, not really thinking about how the small volumes involved in a small tank may make it easy to overdose, also not thinking it would have Cu in it.
Ive recently seen one of the baby rabbit snails so am happier now! Hopefully it was just an unhappy coincidence that they both died within a week or so of each other!
Iím going to dose much less from now on. Does half sound reasonable, or less? What are you dosing?

Good news about the baby snails.

I dose just 1 ml a week in my 180 litre tank - as I said, I have low tech plants so they won't need nearly as much as high-tech plants. I use a 1 ml pipette/dropper graduated in 1/4 mls. I bought a pack from Ebay.

If you need to measure an amount that isn't a whole number of mls, look at a 1 ml babies' medicine dosing syringe which are graduated in 1/100 of a ml. These are very useful for dosing small amounts of anything. I got mine from my local pharmacy. Be warned, the "babies' medicine dosing" bit is very important. I got the third degree when I asked for just a syringe  ;D

Ah, yes, that is a lot lower than the suggested dose! I also go for low tech plants, there seem to be plenty to chose from. Initially I used no frets at all, as I started the tank with some garden soil under the sand. But my plants havenít been doing too well more recently and I was recommended this product. Tbh I think the main benefit to the plants will be me buying another timer for the tank lights - I got rid on the advice of the fire service. Still in two minds about it! But anyway, this is way off topic now!

It may be off topic, but definitely get a timer. Fish 'expect' the lights to be on for the same number of hours each day and at the same time each day. They get stressed if the light duration/time of day varies badly.

If you have garden soil under your sand and your plants haven't been doing too well, you could always try popping in a couple of fertiliser root tabs to help. I have used JBL Ferropol 24 in my substrate, but there are lots of different ones available.
