Title: amano shrimp and pygmy cories?
Post by: KayFe on February 25, 2017, 01:38:43 PM
:-\I fancy having 3 amano shrimp in my tank but I have some pygymy corydoras and wonder if they are small enough to be eaten by the amanos? Or do amanos just stick to algae?

Amano will try any left over fish food as well as algae.  They won't go after live fish though so are safe to go with your pygmy cories.

Hey
I have 4 amano shrimp in with my albino cories they don't bother my cories but they do steal their food so I try to place a pellet near my cories to make sure they get fed  :)

Are your shrimp producing larvae? In order to raise these they would need to be removed and grown on in brackish water.

If you have more shrimp than when you started they may not be amanos, but ghost shrimp!
