Hi Mrs FCMF's gang,

Don't worry about the green things, they are actually quite good fun. My human has changed all of the tanks here over to live plants, which are softer and more flexible than the ones that we used to have. It means that I can wriggle into the tightest corners full of plants, because they move when I push against them. I've also found a plant in one corner which is lovely to smooth my back against when I swim under the tiny leaves.

I hope that you enjoy your new plants as much as I enjoy mine,

Handsome betta.

We are always last in the pecking order to get to the food that Mrs FCMF drops into the tank. However, we've just discovered java moss attached to a branch and have taken up residence beside it. Now and again, when the others aren't looking, we're taking nibbles at it - this is fun!

Glad to hear that you are beginning to enjoy the live plants. They are fun.

Hello Apache's panda cories,
My human has always called me handsome, and I believe her Even though her photography skills aren't great, I've made sure that she has attached some pictures for you.

Betha and her 'bodyguards' have been busy and filled our tank with eggs whilst our human was on a little stay at his 'grandma's (fish need waterproof dictionaries!) they are in a net thingy and have lots of water flow! I think apache will post about it on his thread. Very handsome but you look like a female betta (saw some in the shop). Great to get in touch wee Harley and little  Harley

Bertha has been a busy girl then.  ;)
My human thought that I was a girl, but another user on this forum @Sue explained that my smaller fins were because I'm a plakat betta. I'm even more special because I am a butterfly plakat. Sue explained that it was because the edges of my fins were a different colour from the main part of the fin, which are the same colour as my body.  :)

Hello all. I'm a dwarf puffer and my human tends to call me Tiny. I was the smallest puffer in the first batch that she brought home. I got quite friendly with one of the others and we spent a lot of time swimming around together. Just a minute, my human wants to comment - "it was adorable, the size difference was so cute" - well, thanks, but how's about spending less time commenting and drinking coffe, and more time getting our breakfast. Bless her, although she always greets us and all the other tank inhabitants every morning, she always starts with her coffee rather than our breakfast. Talk about misplaced priorities  ::) . Anyway, my friend has developed into quite a stunning young lady and I am still very fond of her. She gets a lot of attention from the other males, especially to two biggest, who often squabble over her and the other young lady. I tend to use this squabbling time, and my own swift, ninja-like moves to get in there while they are distracted and spend some time with her. It's quite a platonic relationship, but I know I haven't been "friend zoned", I just like to give her a bit of a rest from the sort of attention that the dominant males give her, and we have a catch up and a potter around the tank together. We have been told that the two other puffers (Sherbon and Humbug) in the tank at the other end of the room will join us when we get our bigger tank delivered and set up. I hope that Sherbon and Humbug are ladies. I know it can be impossible to tell when we are young, but I swear that there must be another dwarf puffer tank somewhere in our region, full of dwarf puffers bought from the same MA that we came from, which is all females, with two very happy but slightly exhausted males.  ;D

We are very skilled at covering the whole tank and somehow managing to catch about 80% of the food between us. Our human tells us that's why we are named as we are and has promised to let us see our namesakes on the TV tomorrow - we might pick up even further skills if we watch carefully.

S&V (the 2 female tetras).

Strange humans we live with. Very quiet throughout the year, then get very vocal for a fortnight watching other humans running round a patch of grass and hitting a yellow ball. It's caused some of us to leap out of the water, creating a splashing sound. Mrs FCMF had better not forget to feed us dinner this evening!

Our human spent forever today moving stuff around our house.  He's cleaned the Windows, vacuumed the floors, attended to the house plants and moved the furniture around - it was very stressful but we appreciated the food he gave us afterwards. He has done a quite excellent thing with the rocks and wood which give us a little swimming lane around the back of the tank, has meant the floating plants stay in the middle of the tank rather than going over to the filter and he's made a cool double cave thing whereby one cave is now the entrance to another and it leads you under the plants to the back of the tank like a sort of tunnel if you will, he can see both the entrance and exit too - the rams are exploring it now and the rest of us might try to sneek a go at it later if we're allowed.  Last but not least he's got rid of those old anubias leaves that looked a bit tatty and were blocking the light to the plants below - good human
