Title: Galaxy Rasbora
Post by: Etienne on August 02, 2013, 04:38:32 PM
I've noticed the photo of the galaxy rasbora on the Thinkfish site.

They look stunning in picture but I've not seen them in my local store. Does anyone here keep some or has even seen some in their LSF?

Maidenhead Aqautics usually has them in. But the name has changed. They are now celestial pearl danios (not to be confused with pearl danios. Though MA used to call them firework rasbora - they may still use that name.

Hi,

As Sue has said maidenhead aquatics normally stock them. I bought mine from there and they were labled as celestial pearl danios. They are lovely little fish :)

There is a lot more info on these fish here (http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/danio-margaritatus/), including the history of the fish since its discovery in 2006 (and all the name changes) in the notes at the bottom.

I have 3, I used to have 6 however have lost a few since early this year. They are in with Endlers, black phantom tetras, green neons, cories and shrimp.
