Fat Zebra Loach

A lot of botine loaches do become deeper bodied with age and females can fill with eggs making them even bigger. The bad news is that they are almost impossible to breed in an aquarium. Commercially they have to be treated with hormones to get them to spawn.

It is possible for loaches to develop tumours though that is impossible to diagnose while the fish is alive.

I knew there was an old thread somewhere, right back to when the forum re-appeared in its current incarnation, and have finally found it! There might be something useful here
