So i bought a pair of kribs a couple of weeks ago and already i have fry, i would guess around fifty baby fish. I don't have anywhere to move the fry to so will just have to play this one out, but i am now thinking of setting up a smallish nursery tank. The kribs have settled in well and apart from the odd charge by the male towards the other fish it's still a very peaceful tank. I am in awe of the male krib and the way he is looking after his young at the moment, but i realise this could change after a couple of weeks or so. I am still not seeing much of the female and she is remaining in the rocks or cave area that they have made for themselves. I can honestly say this has been a pleasure to watch from start to finish with these fish , a bit like having a nature channel live in your house :-)

Congratulations.

Although often unexpected, having fry in the tank is both adorable and fascinating.
Great to hear that the tank is still peaceful, and the male is doing well looking after the little ones.
I've not kept Kribensis, so I don't know if the female staying in the cave area is normal.
I hope that your gang continue to do well, and please post some pictures if you can.  ;D

This is great to hear  :fishy1: congratulations  ;D

What are you offering them in the way of food? I have never managed to even spot a fry in my tank unfortunately... though I have had a pair of rams lay eggs, though they ate them a few days later. I have suspicions my goldeneyes are up to something... fishy... too!

I will try to get some decent photos up. I have managed to get a decent 1 min video but not sure how to upload to the site ??. It really is amazing watching the father protect his youngsters, if one gets out of line he sucks it up and blows it back out of his mouth into the school :-)
