3 weeks ago one of my Platies suddenly got a lot thinner - she'd given birth. I spotted 2 small fry in the tank then just one so I supposed the other had become a snack.
Previously I had decided that if they had fry I would leave them in the tank and and let nature take its course as everything I read said one or two might survive in a well planted sparsely populated tank. My tank is planted but not sparsely populated, if it wasn't for the oversized filter I would be overstocked.
This morning when doing a water change and tidying up the plants I was surprised to spot 5 fry all about 3mm long. I am now concerned that if all 5 survive (there may be more for all I know) which seems likely as they have got this far with no special treatment I am going to be over stocked.
Any suggestions?
Anyone want some platies?

This is the problem with livebearers.
You could try advertising them on www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk though you wouldn't be able to charge much for them as they are cheap in shops. Or try phoning round a few shops to see if they'd take them. If they do, they probably won't even give you a credit note as they are so cheap from the wholesaler.
Or get another tank...........

No....... don't mention the get another tank option I am struggling to keep the urge under control as it is!
I wasn't thinking about selling them more like giving/begging someone to take them. Mind you they are still very small it will be a while yet just surprised to see 5.
New tank - no, no no . . . . . Well maybe an option . . . No, I must resist.
