I picked up some more Ghost shrimp today as they're making a great job cleaning up the fluffier plants. Just before I put the bag to float in the tank I held it up to have a look and was amazed to see loads of babies swimming around in there, at least 10!

Now the problem is this. I know in the main tank they may well produce babies and most of those babies may get eaten but I feel a little uncomfortable putting in juveniles that will immediately turn into fish food. So I'm putting them in the quarantine tank until they're a bit bigger.

Am I being soppy?

Definitely not. Picture me standing on the patio in all sorts of horrible weather emptying the water change bucket tiny bit by tiny bit and rescuing all the baby cherry shrimp I've sucked up  ;D

I'd do the same.

I would like to know what people do with the tiny snails they take out of the tank, you know the common accidentally introduced ones.

I take them out the minute I see them, sometimes as small as a match head, but then I'm stuck as to what to do with them so they get transferred to another bucket outside.
Then I worry that it's too cold for them.
I don't have any fish that are likely to nosh them up and don't in any case fancy just squashing them on the side of the tank.

You can always post them to me  :)

My ghost shrimps aren't ghost shrimps but I have no idea what they actually are. I'm suspecting they may be colourless cherry shrimps. Still cute though.
