Well my pair of yellow honey gourami have had a whirlwind romance.

The male has been very territorial over the last few days. Even though there was only a few bubbles against the tank wall this morning I spotted a couple of small black 'commas' near the water surface.

I have no idea how many there are yet, but have decided to rescue as many as I can into my quarantine tank for now, partly because I saw the mother eat one of the fry  ::)

Does anyone have any tips on raising gourami fry? I've only ever had cherry barb fry before and they just made their own way in the main tank (49 survived).

Steve.

I've always found it quite tricky, I gave up trying to rescue my fry as they always died. The problem is that the fry need constantly warm humid air above the water until the labyrinth organ had grown  If you can supply this, you have more chance than me of raising the fry.
At first, feed infusoria or liquifry for egg layers. This works best if you add the drops to a container of water, mix it then add to the tank. If you put the drops straight in, they'll just fall to the bottom in a clump. As the fry grow, they can be moved on to baby brine shrimp.

Rather than go into detail here, google culturing infusoria and baby brine shrimp  ;)

Well I have moved the six fry that strayed away from the bubble next to the quarantine tank and left the rest with the father guarding them. It's hard to tell how many are left under the bubble next but I would think at least ten.
