Title: water testing kits
Post by: Carlton07 on August 06, 2016, 05:23:27 PM
Hi everybody this is my first post here. I have been keeping Koi Carp for 21 years and we have just set up a small aquarium keeping tropical fish in. My question is I have been using ntl labs 200 multi test. If you look at the aquarium lab test the only difference I can see is the packaging. I wondering if it was safe to use my lab 200 multi test on the aquarium.
I must apologise in advance as I am dyslexic and my wife does all the typing so if I do not get back to you very quickly that is why.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi there Carlton07 and welcome to the forum.

I've had a quick look online at both test kits and I agree with you, the only difference seems to be the packaging.
If I were you I'd go ahead and use it to test the aquarium. It's a product that you are familiar with and it would seem a bit of a waste of money to buy another kit specifically for the aquarium.

 :)

As far as I'm aware, there are two types of testers - fresh water and salt water, though in a lot of cases it's just the colour chart that's different, the fresh and marine versions by the same manufacturer often use the same bottles.

Hi Thank you to little fish and sue for your replies I don't know about tropical fish but anything that has Koi attached to it end up working out twice the price.
Thank you very much again :)
